Home Remedies for Sore Throat

There are many reasons that a person may develop a sore throat. For example, it may surface when they have a common cold or something more serious like bronchitis or strep throat. Regardless of the reason for the sore throat, there are many things that you can do to treat it effectively.

One way to help treat a sore throat is to create a gargle that will soothe it. Mixing a small amount of cayenne pepper with warm water is an affective mixture that you can gargle with. Salt water and apple cider vinegar water also helps to soothe a sore throat.

You can also place a tablespoon of thyme in a cup of boiling water to use as a gargle. Make sure that you strain it well before using this, however. Adding a bit of baking soda to your salt water is also a helpful gargle.

In addition to gargling, you can also drink chamomile tea to help soothe your sore throat. Drinking honey and lemon water is also helpful as is adding ginger to water and honey. All of these methods can help to soothe your throat when it is sore, regardless as to the cause for your sore throat.
